Anna Thora has worked with wool as her means of artistic expression since she graduated 1970. She has been teaching art at all levels of schools in Iceland. For 12 years she was running the Art Gallery Kirsuberjatréð along with other arts and crafts women. 

​

Anna Thora has been granted full Goverrnment Arist's salary for two and a half years in all and also got grants from "Myndstef" and "Muggur" -fonds for traveling abroad. She has two times been granted Residency for artists in Finland and Paris France.
